| Customer Reviews: Great Watch and Great Value May 24, 2010 Brian J. Simpson (South Bend, IN USA) I received this watch as a gift for my birthday and couldn't be more pleased. I shopped here at Amazon.com all last week trying to find a reasonably priced and elegant looking watch, with a stainless steel band, that had two tone color, and had an automatic movement. I found several that I liked from Seiko and Orient but the Stuhrling is the one that really caught my eye in the end. First off, this watch is a big and heavy watch. For me, that is a positive quality but I want people reading this review to know how substantially sized this watch truly is. The weight takes a little time to get used to so be prepared.
My preconceived thought before receiving this watch was that this two tone color would be more of a silver-gold color when in reality it is silver-copper. However, I like it nonetheless and maybe even more so than a traditional silver-gold. The picture here at Amazon.com is really pretty close to the copper color in real life, maybe just slightly washed out, so my preconceived thought about what it would like in real life is my fault.
The clasp on the bracelet is a little confusing to operate at first but in the end it is a very secure way to keep a watch on your wrist. There is almost no chance that this watch will accidentally come off. The bracelet is large out of the box and I had to have a jeweler remove two links in order for it to fit my wrist better. Also, I have hairy arms and my hair doesn't get tangled up in the links at all.
I was also very pleasantly surprised how brightly the Luminova hands glowed in the dark as well. The presentation back of the watch is a nice touch also. Everything about this watch is beautiful. I highly recommend it.
Beautiful watch getting lots of compliments August 10, 2009 E. Parrish (TN) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read a review recently where someone said you can't trust Stuhrling reviews because you are told you get an extra year of warranty if you rate it with 5 stars. Not true but it does say you get the extra year if you give the watch a "favorable review". The review was from someone who said Invicta makes the best watches for the money. I have never bought one so I can't say. I don't buy Invicta watches for the same reason I don't buy Kia vehicles - I can't get past the stupid name. But I'm off the subject so let's get back to my Stuhrling watch. I am not motivated by an extra year's warranty. The reader will just have to trust me. I have bought several Stuhrling watches and I have not been disappointed. This watch is a real looker. I just returned from a vacation with family and several family members commented what a beautiful watch I was wearing. It has a sweeping second hand like a Rolex. The face has a beautiful background design. It is that lovely understated rose-gold with brushed silver color. It is a heavy watch. I put a Kinetic Seiko in my weight watchers scale and it is 2.5 oz. The Stuhrling is twice that at 5 oz. I got used to that quickly though so no problem. It feels like quality all the way around and it has quickly become one of my favorite watches. It is a real beauty!
